If you are asking this question, then you haven’t been to our showroom. Hardwood offers elegance and class. It speaks of stability and strength. Whether you are seeking a formal dining room or a more casual feel to your den or bedroom, hardwood is the choice for you.

Colors and species

When looking at hardwood, you may have to ask two questions: What species? And what stain? Each species has a distinct look to its grain, which lends to the overall look of the completed floor. Oak and walnut have a straight grain pattern to them, while cherry and maple have more burls and curls in their grains. We offer birch, hickory, and pine as well.

Some of these woods look great in a natural finish. But if you wish to darken the color, we have a wide variety of products for stains. If you want a particular look, use one stain color as a border to the room and a contrasting color for the central part of the room. Any design that you can come up with, our installers can make happen.

Another option you have is distressed wood. These floors are hand-scraped and distressed by a craftsman to show that they are older than they are and then hand refinished. This is perfect for an area of the home that you want to have a rustic feel.

Engineered hardwood

Indeed, higher moisture areas are not suited to traditional hardwood flooring. However, that isn't a problem with engineered hardwood. A moisture-resistant base of layered wood supports the veneer plank. It can go down as a floating floor, so you won't have to worry about glue or nails. The layered wood will adapt to the moisture, and you won't have a period of acclimation to the weather or shrinkage of the wood.
